Our story
The beginning
of forever.
Our story began in 2019 at Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant. Tatum was working as a hostess at the Lake Mary location, while Zach had his own location but would often come to Lake Mary to pick up food and help out on busier nights. After working together a few times, Zach finally asked Tatum on a date.
The only problem? Tatum didn’t realize he was asking her on a date! Eventually, she caught on, and their first date was set.
Zach invited Tatum to Planet Smoothie in Lake Mary. So, they both headed there… except there are two Planet Smoothie locations in Lake Mary, and they somehow managed to go to different ones. Tatum briefly thought Zach had stood her up! Once they realized what happened and finally made it to the same location, they sat down and talked nonstop for three hours.
From that very first date, they both knew there was something special between them. A few months later, they officially began dating.
Over the next six and a half years, they built a life filled with countless memories and traditions. Some of their favorite moments include going to ICE! at the Gaylord Palms every Christmas, their annual staycations at the Waldorf Astoria, celebrating Halloween together at Halloween Horror Nights, bringing their cat Korra into their family, picking out a custom Disney ornament every year for their Christmas tree, and, of course, traveling to Croatia.
The Proposal
On August 18, 2026, while visiting Croatia, Zach told Tatum to get ready for dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant at the Hilton in Rijeka. The plan was to stop by the lounge before their dinner reservation.
When they arrived at the hotel and stepped off the elevator on the restaurant level, they were greeted by an incredible view. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the beautiful mountains and the Adriatic Sea as the sun began to set.
They made their way to the lounge, which opened onto an even more breathtaking balcony. As they walked toward an open spot, Tatum noticed rose petals scattered across the ground and a huge bouquet of roses waiting nearby.
Tatum turned around, and Zach took her hands. Then, he got down on one knee and asked the question.
And, obviously, the answer was YES!
But Zach had one more surprise. Waiting inside the lounge were Tatum’s mom and Zach’s parents, who had secretly traveled all the way to Croatia to be there for the special moment.
From a chance meeting at Giovanni’s, to a first date at the wrong Planet Smoothie, to getting engaged overlooking the Adriatic Sea, their story has been filled with love, laughter, adventure, and so many unforgettable moments along the way.
Now, they are so excited to begin their next chapter and celebrate their wedding day surrounded by the family and friends who mean the most to them.
And they can’t wait to share their special day with all of you!
